Reggio’s Treehouse at Lansdowne, VA is conveniently located across from Inova Loudoun Hospital. We are dedicated to providing a high-level of education for our students and creating a strong foundation for their continued success. As a Reggio Emilia inspired program, we embrace your child’s interest to develop a curriculum that is meaningful and age-appropriate for your child. Our staff are highly-trained, nurturing and caring. Our approach to early childhood education strengthens critical thinking, builds language and literacy skills, and promotes a healthy self-esteem so that every child faces the world with confidence. We emphasize the development of a positive self-concept through positive reinforcement, understanding, trust, and love.
Our school days begin at 6:30am and end at 6:00pm. We offer a variety of weekly program lengths, including 2-day programs, 3-day programs and 5-day programs. In addition, we provide both morning half-day programs and full-day programs, allowing parents to choose the best option for both their child and schedule.
As taproots develop from radicle seeds, in the early months infant’s nervous system and muscle control start getting in sync, baby’s quick and jerky movements start becoming smoother as they show interest in the world around them.
Laying their roots, infants begin to experience their world using all 5 senses while they use and strengthen their gross and fine motor skills.
As their stems begin to sprout, children begin to identify who they are and what it means to be part of a community. This is highly communicative stage in their lives as they explore non-verbal, verbal and written communication skills.
Their leaves are blooming and students are learning how to express themselves using the “100 languages of children”. They start to learn how to organize themselves and start exploring where they are in time and place.
As we grow into young saplings, children have attained all Virginia state standards of learning via our Reggio and PBL approach and are prepared for Kindergarten. They will have a more complex understanding of all the content taught throughout the program and will be able to guide their own learning. They will have incorporated all attributes in the learner profile.
Our children are now ready to climb the tree and make new discoveries. They are ready to build their own realities and learn from them. Children will delve into Project Based Learning; they will be given real world problems to solve moving from local to global issues. Children will also have an opportunity to work on homework and/or conduct computer research. We appreciate the children have been in school all day so our program promotes several organized games, free play on the playground or just a safe place to “hang out” with their friends. We embrace letting “kids be kids”.
